more noob knocking questions

ok i think my car is knocking but i really don't know how to tell. i watched DoriFCto ( http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=jerry's+fc ) and my car doesn't sound like his but the tech bunces when i idle after hitting the brakes. and has feels like DoriFCto videos sounds.

how can truly tell if it is knocking or not cuz if it's not knock then i can sleep easy.

Have you checked your plugs and wires? How loud is the knocking? Timing? Im no expert but Id check those first.

Deflooding the engine will foul plugs. Trust me I went through 3 sets, but check them and your timing.

granny shift in the first at a light, power into 2en then 3ed no problem. next light same thing but some where in 2en about 4-5k rpms there a slit power loss then it's back lest then a split sec. het 3rd and about 4k rpms the power drops and theres a very small back fire but the motor asks as if i'm not pressing hte gas so i let off and granny to 4th and just drive. next light i so all of the above with out power shifting an only giving it 4/5 the power and it doesn't do it

wtf is up with that?
