Moonroof Help

Ok, here's the problem, I think it's come off the track, but I'm not entirely sure. When i hit the switches on the motor, I can hear it moving, however the moonroof goes no where. When I try and use the little piece in the roof w/ an allen wrench, it is very difficult to move, and I don't want to twist to hard for fear of breaking something.

My question is, how do I get to the parts to see whats wrong? Because its stuck in the closed position, the mazda manual way won't work. Do I need to pull my entire headliner down? Or is there some way to manually force it up?

Chris

moonroof

Is the roof flush when you view it from outside the car? You said you can hear it moving, if you move it back and then forward, does it inch? If it moves just a little bit then i would try giving it a push on the bottom back part, from inside the car the side closest to the trunk. Mine has this issue, its on the track it just has a hard time getting that first start. It has to move up on the track and then it goes backwards, also the same thing when closing it. As it gets close to closing you might have to give it a little lift again. Try this if your roof is flush, if not then do what fetish says. This is a pretty common issue it seems, 2 other 7's i looked at had the same problem. You had to give it a little push to get it up onto the rails.

Try giving it a slight push upward as you hit the switch.

Okay, so I got the headliner removed, and here's what I've found. When I press the button, the motor makes the sound like its turning, however if you watch the bolt that you can manually shut it with, it moves maybe an eighth of a turn, and stops. This is the first time I've had to work on a moonroof, so I have no clue what this means. Is something just siezed somewhere, or what?

And I tried pushing up on it, but to no avail.
