modifying turbo.

ok. word on the street is that the stock hitachi turbos are basicly t3's. I have a bad S4 turbo that im wanting to use. what im eanting to know is are the hitachi and standard t3 crha'a interchangable?

I basicly want to get a new t3/t4 off ebay (i know) and just swap the exhaust housing for a stock rx7 one. Am I just having delusions of granger? I just want this to work, but dont want to be stuck with a turbo i dont need.

take a look at your s4 t2 flange and you will so no turbo has the same flange. BNR makes stock replacement upgrades. Everything else will require manifold, lines, etc.

You can port your wastegate on the s4 turbo. Check it out, there are lot of posts on this subject.

Then you can either run it stock , or rebuild it to a hybrid. They reuse stock exh side and throw on a bigger intake side. Check out BNR upgrades, or go to your local turbo shop.
