Modifying S4 Moldings/Trim

I did a search trying to see if anyone has done this rather than changing to S5 or shaving them.

Heres the question:
Are the moldings hallow? I was wondering if they can be sanded down where theres no middle groove? Maybe even melt it flat and sand it to a finish?

I had this idea as well, I was just going to scrape them on the sidewalk until they got flat, then sand with 80 grit, 120, 300, so on.

They're hollow. You need to fill them with bondo or a similar appropriately flexible plastic filler.
