Mixing Injectors LI to HI Harness?

I found out that the injectors I had are not the right impedence. I have a pair of:

86-87 13B T low square center 550cc tan 195500-1370

When I needed a pair of:

88 13b T high square offset 550cc purple 195500-1370

I have a high impedence harness, because I have an '88. I can get the injector to fit fine in the harness, but what about the resistance?

The resistor has the right specifications:

So woul d splicing the wire close to the injector and putting in this work? What wire should it go in? (primary injector, BTW)

I'm a bit confused.
Low-impedence 550's are purple when brand new, but turn brown or tan with age.

If you do need to install low-impedence fuel injectors on your 1988, you'll need the resistors installed.

So I cut and splice the wire and soder/shrik wrap the connections? What color wire?

The injectors shoudl not plug right into your harness unless you've cut off the little notch on the injectors.

This notch prevents such things from happening.

Now to make a low impedance injector work in a high harness you need a 10ohm by 10watt resistor for each injector.

I wired mine in at the ECU point. This way they stay away from heat.

I placed mine on the green and_____ colored wires.

Check your FSM for the exact pins and then check what color wire it is.

I read over the FSM and I still couldn't find it. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong section. Which one is it?

Well.
If you read the Fuel injection system part of the FSM and like 10 pages down you'll see it.

It has a list of items.

It will look like
2A | Injector primaries.........
2B | etc...........

Then bvelow it will be the pin out diagram of those numbers.

Thanks, I just found it. Would putting in the resistor near the injector itself not be a good idea?

I soldered in the resistors at the wires at the ECU. This keeps them away from heat and vibration. If you do decide to put them near the injector it doesnt matter which wire you splice into on each injector.

I was advised to keep them away fromheat.

So I put then near the ECU. I also put them in a plastic radio shack box to isolate them from external things like edges/metal.
