missing hose

missing hose

im missing one of the hoses on the coolant reservoir cap. the one that is there is the one that connects under radiator cap. where does the other one go? if anyone has pics, that would be great. thanks.

it goes nowhere...its left open or you can put a hose on it and point it toward the ground. there are complete diagrams in the free FSM located in the FAQ section at the top of the forum.

im having a weird problem then. i took car for oil change and they filled my coolant reservoir. i drove it to a nj meet sunday and back and the coolant is empty. also i saw liquid in engine bay across from the opening. didnt see any leaks under car. any ideas?

fill the coolant from the cap on top of the thermostat (assuming you have an s4). squeeze the upper radiator hose to help get any bubbles out. come back an our later and top off if necessary. fill the reservoir up to the max line. go drive around for a little bit, wait for the car to cool down. keep an eye on the temp gauge. it should still be full if you look in the fill spot above the thermostat. if its not full or the reservoir is empty you have a leak somewhere or you didnt get all the air bubbles out. is there any smoke coming from the exhaust?

i have a s5. did you mean to fill coolant from radiator cap in your first sentence? i had smoke the one time i revved past 6k in neutral, none when idling. will buy some antifreeze and fill tomorrow.

if you have an s5 then you fill from the neck on the radiator.
