misfiring randomly
Ok so I'm not pulling any code which is weird because my cel comes on randomly sometimes... I thought whatever code triggered CEL to come on was stored in ecu?

Jumper wire from single green connector near battery to neg. Battery terminal. Key on. And nothing.
But I have noticed recently when I put key in on position not all of idoit lights show up just a couple.
Are all of them supposed to come on?

Ok so I have not really been driving the car because this issue...just starting it every night when I get home maybe drive around the block.
but I did take it out yesterday an it's still doing it long enough for the problems to start..misfiring almost stalling out now..(not surprising considering I have not done much to fix it over past month did not expect it to be fixed)
I changed the oil and noticed the old oil smelled like fuel alot!
What could this indicate related to my misfiring issue? too much fuel??

leave the jumper on the green connector, if a code triggers it will immediately spit out the code. these ECUs do not store codes so the problem has to be happening at the time the ECU does the self diagnostic. in cases of intermittent issues it can be a pain to get codes.
Yeah I figured I couldn't pull any codes because of the intermittent tho I have no seen it on in a month or so .....
so I ordered used injectors to be cleaned
intake manifold gaskets
Vacuum tubing
New belts
So I can re ground main ecu ground and replace that stuff as I go....... anything else worth replacing for my issue while I have manifold off?

I don't remember if your motor is an S5 or not but if it is, I have an excellent writeup on how to completely rejuvenate the aux port system I can send you in a GoogleDoc. It serves me no purpose, as I have long since discarded my aux port sleeves. It's a good idea if you still run them especially if you still have air pump.

Before work I did some poking around under the hood and spotted this:

Could this be the ecu ground? Black , black and white stripe wires..... I read somewhere during rebuild and such(which according to PO was) that it could be moved around ..
Or is this a different ground?
Sorry about scrappy kindle pics btw..

Also wires on the plug on my secondary injectors are cut right at the plug well not cut but expose metal from the wire ..
Is that normal from people probing it? Or could that cause my intermittent misfire!?!?

Front wire is green and white
Rear injector wire is green and red
