Yes I did still said zero so maybe my tps is trash..... or a bad ecu ground is screwing my reading up from what I read on Aaroncakes website

I'm going to check my ecu ground under my intake manifold as soon as I find a replacement gasket for it... sounds like the ground could be my issue...

Do you believe you have the right colored wires running to your TPS? Yes or no? Hint: the wiring diagram already
provided will tell you this.

if you're having difficulty with the meter just try the simple test of disconnecting the TPS and drive the car, if the misfire goes away then replace the TPS. the car may backfire with it disconnected so don't drive it for very long without it, just enough to see if the problem has gone away or persists.

Look at his pic of the TPS plug. The wire colors are not appropriate and the plug does not look stock. It could be someome spliced in a new plug w/different wire colors though. He could run a continuity test on at least two wires between this sensor and the ECU to figure this out.

well, driving it with the TPS disconnected will still give an idea if it is the main problem though or if he is just spinning his wheels over it for nothing. there is an aftermarket TPS supplier, which the color wires may not match the factory ones, doesn't mean it is incorrect though but it can lead to issues in trying to find the correct wire to get a reading from. simple thing is find the green wire off the engine harness, not off the TPS wiring.

it of course has to be still connected and ignition on otherwise there will be no reading.

i just don't know if he has the skill level to properly diagnose or adjust it so a simpler test may be helpful. hiccups aren't common with a failing or out of range TPS, a complete dead spot in power would be a whole different explanation. if the hiccup occurs close to the 3700RPM injector transition then he may be correct in looking at the ground on the engine harness.

Hiccup happens sorta random but on aaroncakes site it says along with 3800 hesitation bad ground can screw reading from sensors up and cause all kind of driveability issue an it said sporadic check engine light illumination which I have had

Now before you ask what was I doing different .....nothing!
It just decided to work today .....

But any way go the idle set to 1.00 volts and wot set to 4.80 (couldn't get it to 5?)

But I took it for a long test drive and it did not miss but once so hopefully I fixed my issue next couple day will tell ..

Well I have not done the ground yet I am tho.... I thought it was fixed but it's just masked if that makes sense... still misfired a little bit then stops, not everytime I touch the gas at least.

I think TPS runs in series with ur maf, maps, . I would reconnect/reseat the wiring harnesses going these sensors. A loose connection on any one could cause problems.

Ok so my car is right back to wear it was .........was watching Aaron cakes restoration videos and I think part 24 he was talking about "noise" from the crank angle sensor and how it can cause fuel and spark to fire at wrong time and stuff am I on the right track with this? Is there a way to test it or did he mean somthing completely different.... hopefully he will chime in.

When you got a reading from the TPS did you get it from the Emission side of the harness? There are two sides, Emission and the sensor side. Which one was it.

I thought the sensor side had rubber in the back of the plug thus making it not possible to read that side. Correct?

Same reading as the other side so idk....

I'm going to do ecu ground soon but...

Could omp and/or cas be worth checking for my misfire/stutter issue?
