It's strictly due to the restriction factor of the AFM. This Is a rule of thumb that Is applied with our cars, according to him.

Hmm, thats odd, I know that same person. 400hp you say?

<--- Microtech LT-8 | Stock-port |

We managed 173 RWHP on a slightly lean dyno run.

With a somewhat "safer" run we settled on 167 to the rear tires.

Moral - Yes Microtech ECU is very much so worth the $$$ if you are looking to gain signifigant power from your N/A engine.

The point of going standalone isnt really nixxing the afm, thats just a bonus. It's all the tuning capabilities.

thank you very much guys, ive made my call and standalone it is. i specifically asked for microtech coz thats the only standalone we have a tuner here for, 1 of only 2 in canada (ForceFed Performance). the owner, Marko, actually achieved the title of fastest streetdriven import in the vancouver area. 560 some odd whp and a 10.73 qtr. mile. i believe that speaks volumes of what his microtech can do.

even tho ive heard that the other brands (haltech, power pc, wolf 3d...etc) have more capabilities, as one person here said: "a very well tuned microtech will out-perform a less-tuned haltech any day."

With that turbo and the RE, it must be. Though the engine is no longer in the car...What he's doing now is just crazy.

I don't run an LT8, I'm running a Digi 2 pro.

Same **** really, fuel and ignition just slightly worse resolution than the newer models, same options and other functions.. (although i'm only using it for fuel right at the moment..)

Reason I'm running it is because it was free.

other mods, not a whole lot, largish streetport, 2.5in exhaust (straight pipe, no mufflers) still using the stock manifold.

still debating wether or not I want to turbo it.
Or keep this engine n/a and build a better engine.

Grr i dunno... decissions decissions..
