Mini battery?

I've noticed a few people using smaller batteries in their FCs...
Do you have to convert anything to accomodate the small battery? Is there any benefit aside from space?

smaller batteries usually have less cranking amps so they will drain their power reserves quicker but that all depends on the brand of battery. i had a Hawker battery for my jet ski that was close to the cranking amps of these batteries in half the size but it was also well over $100, you can try a harley shop for a small high output battery.

there is no modifications necessary aside from the battery hold down not fitting properly any more.

you can get a odyessey pc680 battery from ebay. they are motorcycle batteries. some have auto terminals and can be used easily on a car, I have a regular one and used the little screws that tighten the clamp and screwed them straight in the motorcycle terminal thingy. Ive owned it for a few months and it works great, just dont let it sit too long or itll drain and need a jump

I run a Hawker battery from Portable Power:

The battery I run costs about $70, and its worked very well so far, although it has VERY LITTLE RESERVE. It weighs about 10 pounds.

I dont run the battery for weight, I run it because it allows me space to install my alcohol injection. I dont relocate because then I have to run a battery cut off to comply with my class rules in NHRA.

Next!
