Might buy a 1990 RX7 Convertible

A few years ago I sold my 90 RX7 convertible so I have forgotten just about everything I learned about them. Today I have a chance to make an offer on another 1990 convertible 5spd with 15000 original miles! I know the asking price of $9000 is beyond top dollar, but how far out is he for this kind of car? What do I need to look out for mechanically?

wow 15k orginal? the engine might be kinda funky, since it sounds like he didnt actually go out and drive it.. I heard of people who absolutly babied their FC for 50k miles and the engine blew for some reason, i think you need to rev those sons of bitches up once in a while, or maybe he was lieing about the 50k blow.. anyways at www.aaroncake.net i think there is a buyers guide.

I read that you need to rev them up to loosen up any carbon deposits that might be in there. Figure with a piston engine you can baby it like that, but with a rotary you actually need to be hard on it sometimes to prolong it's life.

So when you get poped by a cop for speeding tell him you where just conducting maintance to your car. lol
