you nailed it.... gutted cats somewhat muffle the sound a bit and create turbulence..... when you remove it it shoule be a bit louder but not a whole lot.... i was gonna do this after gutting my cats but decided to wait till i get a header and not mess with the midpipe

if you have a welder it would cost no more than $30-40

wish i had one..i was thinking of just cutting the flanges off and taking them to a exhaust shop and have them weld a pipe inbetween them.

no its not worth 70 unless you fabricate it where it will bolt up to a new header and cat back with no extra work... otherwise just wait till you get a header and catback and then make one

I already have a DP and cat back. i think over the winter im just going to cut the flanges and have some exhaust shop make it for me. i have another question though. i have a walbro 255lph fuel pump and an e-fan. i can hear the pump working unless i have the e-fan on. i know its still working but is it working as good? would a red top battery help any or what else can i do?

Maybe, maybe not. The extra load from the e-fan might be taxing your electrical system and alternator to a point where your volts drop enough that the pump isn't working to its full capacity. This is where a fuel pump rewire comes in handy.
