middle nipple on turbo??

well, after I got my standalone, I got rid of my afm and got a custom 3" piping for my intake. Question. There was that hose that came off the turbo, its the middle nipple sticking outwards that was plumbed into the stock TID, Now, can I just cap that off, or do I have to plumb it back into intake???

If I have it capped, it feels like my car has shitty power from the turbo and slow boost, if I uncap it, I get unctrolled boost to like 15psi~ but boost comes on quick and hard....hmmmm

Are you talking about the bov? or the oil vent that comes from the oil filler neck?

there are 2 nipples on the stock turbo, and 2 on the stock TID...

top one on the turbo between it and the IC "Y" into the bottom one (wastegate). then it goes from that "Y" to the stock boost controler on the driver side, then back to one of the holes on the TID.

the other nipple in the TID is for emissions venting.

3rd big one is for the BOV. (what did you do with the BOV??)

what you need to do now. is run a line straigt from the top turbo nipple to the bottom one. this will only give you 5psi though. so you are probably gona want an aftermarket boost controller to install.

for that emissions line from the vac rack (which I assume is now gone) you now need to vent one of the nipples on the oil fill tupe and don't wory about it going into the TID

turbo

im just talking turbo, I have a boost controller hooked up that works.

I have three nipples on the front face of the turbo, two of them (the one that used to go to the wastegate) is how my boost controller is hooked up, but there is a third nipple that went from the turbo into the TID....

....Im not understanding...Ill try and get pics.

Actually, the only thing Im not understanding is the Third Big One?? Maybe I got my BOV all foobar.

you must be talking about the BOV?? the big line is 3/4" or so. there is no vac line from the turbo to the TID.

the BOV would not effect boost... having the wastegate line off would.

the vac line in the red circle is the wastegate line. the one with the blue dots is the turbo line. they should eiher be connected together (For 5psi) or too a boost controller. which one are you using??

is that how you have it? uncapping or caping the BOV would not effect boost. but you would ruin the turbo if you caped it.

oh....

the line im reffering to is the one you put black X's on??? that goes to the tid.. What is that line??

I have a hks SSBOV, and the little vac line I have going off it is just hooked into a vacuum source where my boost controller goes.

heres some pics scott

These pictures are of voskos setup with his hybrid. I purchased that turbo, so these pictures are the same turbo I have, just on his engine.

anyway, look at the top photo. Then look at the bottom photo.

The nipple on the turbo neck has a line going from there to the first nipple on the face of the turbo. This is how I have mine. Then, on the bottom photo, you see a line from the wastegate to the bottom nipple on the face of the turbo.... Thats were I have my boost controller hooked up, like scott said, the bottom turbo nipple to the wastegate is where my boost controller is hooked up.

But notice the yellow circle I made.
, and that is a third nipple inbetween the other two nipples on the turbo. I can see a line coming off it , but where does it go?? Everything in the bottom picture is how I have mine hooked up, but If I cap that middle unknown line, the turbo gets boost, but it feels like its bottlenecked, really shitty spool....etc. If I upcap that middle nipple, I get boost up to 15psi!!!!!, not good.

hopefully this makes sense.

ignor the line into the TID. you no longer have one with the haltech. the line from the oil fill tupe was one of them. which is now just vented to air right?

the 2nd one was for the stock boost controller which you no longer have.

first step. remove lines from turbo. run a line straight from the top nipple (top pic) to the bottom nipple (top pic) that will give you 5psi + any creep.

there is no 3rd nipple in the top pic?? can't see a dam thing in the bottom pic.

what boost controller do you have??? manual? (ball and spring or bleed?) electric?
