miata shifter on fc
hey, does anyone know if a miata shifter will fit a s5 fc? i did a quick search, but didn't really come up with anything too useful.
if anyones done it... how do you like it? is it better/worse than stock? thanks

which part, the entire shifter or the ****? The **** will be dependant on the thread pitch, i would imagine they are the same though...
As for the shifter... I guess im at loss, why are you wanting to rape in into your FC tranny, is it that much better?

come on now, u don't really need pix for this. It's teh same as removing your stock shifter, but when you put the miata shifter in, you gotta just space the bracket up so that the extended length of the lever doesn't bottom out in the turret.

it only feels a liiiittle shorter to me. But then again, i'm still shaving down the bushing for the bottom ball so it will fit into the turret properly. So right now, there's quite a bit of play since the ball at the bottom of the miata shifter is much smaller to accomodate the bushing. I've seen aftermarket short shifters for the FC, and their spacer is just HUGE compared to mine. Mine is only about 3/16". i think the aftermarket spacers are liek a full inch.
