Well I got the infamous code 27 and I checked the internal resistance of the MOP. three of the four readings where within FSM limits, but one that wasn't within limits was not a short. One of the resistance readings was in the megohm range. I am pretty sure this still qualifies as a bad MOP, but could it be that my ECU is not a victim of this electrical engineering atrosity? Has anyone had them fail like this and not ruin the ECU?
