Anyone know of a place that sells metal replacement coolant necks that fit on the S5 TurboII? I don't want to dump a bunch of money on a plastic one just to watch it break again.

 

I know higgi was contemplating doing this, but like everything else, people bitched about the $100 price tag of an aluminum coolant neck and i think it didn't get done (even though the plastic one isn't exactly cheap). you can do what i did, bandaid it. mine cracked, i epoxied it. it cracked through the epoxy. i went and got a 2 inch piece of radiator hose, applied liberal amounts of plastic epoxy, wrapped it around the spot with the crack, and put 2 hose clamps over it . been workin for a long time. just waiting for it to snap off entirely now .

 

We were looking for feedback about making a cast aluminum version for owners a few months ago.

KSP Engineering used to sell one for about $200US equivalent.

We were trying to shoot for a $100 - $150 price per unit when they were done.

People started to bitch about how their original ones were still working, and a brand new one "only" costs about $70 online.

I shelved the development cause most of the feedback was negative...

Honestly I would pay $100-150 for a metal s5 neck if it had a fitting drilled and tapped for a water temp sensor.

 

Don't think all hope is lost...
I'm stilling thinking of going ahead with production, once I get my finances in order.
The most expensive part is the cost of the original mold.
The estimate I got is minimum $1,000 up front.
I'll need to front this money to get them done.
I'm trying to shoot for this becoming a reality by next year.
