Lightbulb Messing with AFM

Hi everyone...

I wonder have anyone tried to mess with AFM's spring rate, which can be 'tuned' if you temper the AFM?

The reason why i'm asking is that AFM's spring should weaken over time, just like any other spring (it is being called 'cold fluidity' scientifically)... And if it is weaken than it should give the same readings with less airflow, 'causing your car to run rich, 'cause it thinks that more air is coming through, than in reality...

Your thoughts?

I did exactly that with my n/a to see what would happen. I ended up running real rich and spitting fireballs. Fun times.

ok, many ppl will tell you that you can not adjust a mas air flow meater. but yes you can, i have a 93 mazda 323 it whent bad one me and my boss (at a mechnic shop) pulled the cap off the top and adjusted it for me, i then raced the car at the ract and keeped one improving the air/fuel this way getting her down to a sad sad 18.2 on the 1/4 mile lol. the only danger is getting it to rich (with a piston engine i know you will see the car start to smoke black and I can here the engine getting to rich) one good way to make shure your not to rick would be to buy a air/fuel guage that will help you tune it just right and even mabey give you some hp (i did not dyno the car but i think i got it some more hp) hope this help ps before messing with it make shure you mark the fatory position

I already did... Marked the position and now trying to find optimal position to lean it out a bit, 'cause it was running too rich... Yet no success... MPG got even worse... Trying different settings though...

i think the best way is to get a air/fuel meater or your local smog shop can help you if there not asses, but they might charge you close to the same price of a guage.
