message center says STOP
Anyone have this expierence?? It seems to only happen when I put my foot on the brake so I'm thinking maybe a bad bulb or something?? It scared the crap out of me when it first happened but the car seems to be running fine.
While I'm on the subject of the message center, has anyone had the expierence of their clock blinking? It blinks from dull to bright all the time. WHO THE HECK MADE THIS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM!!
thanx

I'll anwser, but next time make sure you "SEARCH" !!
1-check you brake fluid level, if it is near "MAX" goto;
2-check your brake light bulbs (only 1 has to be burnt to cause the light to come on), if all are fine;
3-your parking brake sensor is sending the signal.
1 day when you have time you need to take out the CPU and logicon(like this brake light) and re-solder the entire circuit board. ALL FCs suffer this.

"=D STOP" lighting up equals a bad brake light bulb. The brake light bulbs have two filaments in them. Most likely, only one filament in the bulb is not working so you need to have someone press the brake pedal to find out which one it is if it's not obvious.
"(!) BRAKE" lighting up is for the Fluid level or parking brake sensor.
Yeah, I have the flickering clock too. Never got around to resoldering though.

There are two different lights. One is =D STOP and one is (!) BRAKE. =D STOP is for the brake lights.If they look okay, make sure you check the bulbs with someone pressing on the brake pedal. The parking light filament may be working, but the filament that makes the light brighter when you press the brakes may not be working. That's usually the case if the =D STOP light only comes on when you press the brake.

You need to re-solder the plug connections on the back of the warning/idiot light- cl
God bless our cold solder joints. Its good that we have to put a little of ourselves in our loved ones.
