mazdatrix triangle strut tower bar

Hey, does anyone here have a personal experience with the three way triangular strut tower bar which connects to the firewall? Mazdatrix is selling one of theirs that fits all models of the FC for around 272 bux. After looking at the price for their REGULAR strut tower is 182 bux..

well, after seeing that, i KNOW i'd pay too much for it..but if they're the only place that offers one for our car then i guess i have no choice..

You can take your car to a place that builds race frames and they can make you one for about $125 depending...

I went to one and told him what I wanted but I threw in that I wanted braces to the front crossmember of the subframe too. for $50 extra he was going to do the lower strut brace too.

Its a good idea, and probably a very high quality peice. But it is mazdatrix, so its going to be expensive.

i don`t see any problems with making strut braces and stuff like that if i`ll have exact sizes and 1:1 plans

thanks, I know mazdatrix does sell quality parts, and the 3 peice strut tower bar seems like it would keep the frame a hell of a lot stiffer. they say on their site that if you have one and you buy an engine brace, the car feels completely solid and almost all engine torquing during reverse and low gear pulling (stop to go) seems to be non-existant.

Would putting an engine torque brace in make the shift **** shake less since there is less movement coming from the source of power (engine)?

Yep... I don't know how well it works, but I see no reason for me being disappointed with it. I've been waiting to get that for a while. I'll get it when I decide to replace the rest of the suspension. I can't wait!

Yea but, that thing has all kinds of angles to it. I'll try my best. If other or better or different measurments are needed, I'll get that. I guess a drawing would be good to put the measurements on. This don't look none too easy

Welp, after trying to figure out how to measure and give the proper angles, I've decided that the best thing for you folks to do is start by cutting a proper plate for the tops of the strut towers, drill the holes, bolt it down and then add the three bars to fit your car and the mods that you have (it's too tight for my GReddy FMIC).

I wanted to do this measuring but, I don't see how I can give you a good enough drawing. I suggest that you make one that fits and then make a jig for future bars. Sorry.

Mike

I have the Mazdatrix bar and I like it. The fit is good and it does make the car stiffer. Installation is a little bit harder than the bars that just connect the towers. You have to drill 4 holes in the firewall trim lip. Mazdatrix has always done good by me.

In another thread about this mazdatrix triangle strut tower bar someone said these types ARE NOT SCCA legal. Which means no SCCA fun if you have one
Can anyone prove that wrong, I'm sure if you searched hard enough you would find it, best guess is 2nd gen or 2nd gen archives.

They are SCCA legal, just not in the Street Prepared class. So, of you have one, you have to either drive in Prepared, SM2, or take the thing out.
