Mazdatrix' s.s Clutch Line

Went bad on me In a matter of a month. The Internal wall collapsed on me resulting In an expoded Slave Cylinder!

Replaced It 3 times to find I couldn't pass compressed air from one end to another of the s.s line.

Luckily I'm good with the Dealership. Only paid once to have learned three times over It wasn't the Slave Cylinder.

I should have known something was up when the brand new Master Cylinder Resevoir went Black overnight when I Installed It with the Clutch. Freaken fluid was overheating on me b'c of the line. Anyone have difficulties with Mazdatrix' s.s Clutch Flex Line?

Clutch brake fluid overheating? I'm having trouble imagining that you can make a couple hundred degrees in your master or slave cylinder.

DOT 3 spec is 140 degrees Celcius in its lower boiling point test. (I'm no expert on brake fluid)

Have you seen me shift?

I used DOT 4 Mazda Performance Brake Fluid. Conforms to CMVSS 116 & exceeds SAE spec.

At the same time, I replaced with ACT X-treme Pressure Plate/Clutch, RB Aluminum Flywheel, TII Throwout Bearing, Pilot Bearing and Seal, new Master Cylinder and s.s Clutch Flex Line. I replaced Slave Cylinder last Summer. I didn't think It was enough, so I changed 3 more times.

You guess the culprit?

I got the rx-7store ss clutch line. Considering the cost of it.....the upgrade is really worth it. I had better clutch better feel.

I put one on my car, havent driven it with it on yet. But it seems to work fine when I was trying to start it. Clutch fluid is still a nice clear honey color.

I changed out the clutch master and slave cylinders about a month ago, as well as adding the SS line. It's working well so far (no clutch fluid leaking on my leg either!). Keep us posted if Mazdatrix doesn't replace it. Thanks.

Speaking of SS lines, my brakes are beginning to feel kind of squishy. The pedal goes down all the way, but it feels as if the brakes aren't really grabbing the rotors. Pads are only worn about halfway, and the front rotors are new. I'm thinking the back rotors might need replacement soon, but any possibility SS brake lines would improve this feel?

Mazdatrix Is more than compliant to refund my doe. He was baffled and amazed to learn of my collapsed s.s Clutch Line. I've since opted to stick with my brand new line I got from the dealership. Call me a sceptisist.

My Master Cylinder was and Is still In top notch form from when I Initially changed It.

bringing this one back.

Im getting low of fluid in the clutch M/C. Today the car started fine, but it wouldnt go into gear no matter how hard i pushed it. also when i was trying to get it into gear, the car slowely went forward as if it were automatic.

I have the mazdatrix SS clutch line....:-/

edit: the pedal is also spongy and when the clutch DID engage, it was near the floor.

Yeah, I agree. It's not like the slave cylinder is in direct contact with the clutch. You'd have to either heat up the transmission housing or the clutch fork to the point where it turned hot enough to transfer enough heat to the clutch fluid to boil it at like 300 degrees or whatever temp fluid U use

If the fluid turned dark, it was probably another issue...

Do you see any fluid on the line? If there's no fluid on the clutch line you probably just have some bad clutch parts...

I wouldn't start blaming M-trix till you rule out simple mechanical failure of part of your clutch system...
