Quick shipping and great to deal with. Cheaper than the dealership too!

Cool thanks for your help guys. Good to hear nice things about them. I have scopped their site for a while and seen their name pop up numerous times so figured they were one of the better companies around plus I figured anythings gotta be better than 20year old bushings and not to mention the price. Even converting to AU$ it was still cheap!!

highway I got the 86-92 RX-7 Full Front & Rear Urethane Kit.

Mazdatrix FTW...

But you can get the Energy Suspension kits for around 100 (shipped), and they're graphite impregnated, so they're self-lubing (less squeaking...).

Well I got the energy suspension kit for my 86 and I just started to install them. It took me about 6 hours just to do one front side. It took me about 40min to get the control arm off alone. But that was due to finding the right socket sizes and finding 2 of them to put on each side etc. Getting the bushings off without a press, was the the killer. I figured out you can use a gear puller to get the big rear bushing off pretty easily. The front one I just burnt the sucker out with a torch very carefully.

Installing the new bushings are a breese to put on. At least for the front. I would wear gloves to put on the grease, it is very sticky and hard to get off your hands. But I used WD40 and it came off very easily. The place I bought them from gave me extra tubes of the grease for free. It was $102 for the kit.

any reviews as far as driving impressions after the install? I'm wondering if this should come before my coilovers

Well I just got done with the front bushings today. I still have my stock 21 year old shocks and springs on the car and I have factory manual steering. I took it for a spin and WOW!!!!!!! The steering response is amazing. The car will turn right where you put the wheels at. Body roll was reduced a bit too and I have the stock sways. I cant wait to put on the back set of bushings in. I am very happy with my investment. This is my experence with the bushings and my old stockers were fried so improvement is probably going to be greater than a car with good condition bushings. I have new shox but I'm still waiting for springs so I don't know what I will do with myself when my car can take turns 2x as fast.

If you have all the parts, I would do it all at once. But it will really tire you out just doing the bushings. You can take about 2 1/2 days to install the bushings if you dont have a press. Then take a day off, and install your coilovers in a day. Then your ready for friday and the weekend to enjoy.

OK So I have all the front control arms off and old bushings out. New bushes were a breeze to fit but when I went to remount front control arm the rear pivot with big U bracket just doesn't want to line up to the bolt holes. Any else have this trouble?? any tips?? I'll give it another go tomorrow night but just thought I'd check to see if anyone had same problem and how they overcome it.

edit: Oh and as for Mazdatrix excellent service got my parcel in 2-3days. Have already sussed out other bits and piece

Doood i had the exact same problem. That stupid bushing for you U bracket sucks. I even used a 20 ton press and it still would go on all the way. It was like 1/8" off. What i did was take off the new bushing and on the in-side of the bushing i just grinded it out slightly with a dremal. I be a little bit test fitting and grinding to get it right but it did the trick.

Cool sounds like a bit of a drastic measure though. You would think a direct replacement part would be exactly that a direct replacement not have to grind bits off I'll get it to fit

I just did a prothane swap on my FC, took about 2 1/2 hours to swap the front including burning out the old bushings, however on the rear I dropped the subframe to get the trailing arms out so it took about 6 hours start to finish. I was able to hammer the old bushings out on the rear in under a minute each, you just cave them in a little and out they go. I had some pretty tired cracked up bushings in there and it feels much better just tooling around town. I am really looking forward to getting it out on the track

I had some issues getting the big U-bolt control arm mount to line up on one side, it didn't slide on quite as far as the other side did so I knew I would be in a little bit of trouble. I just put both U-bolt bolts in first real loose then twisted the front end of the control arm into place, I found it much easier than trying to pry the back end around to get the bolts lined up.

From what I understand, some of the links in the suspension articulate on more than one axis. Polyurethane doesn't have the same compliance as rubber, so installing polyurethane in certain places actually hurts the handling. However any new bushing is going to be better than the 25-year-old OEM part, and kits are cheap. I plan on piecing together a proper bushing kit, but it's going to be a lot more $$

I also carry bushings for FC's at better prices than Mazdatrix. My main clientele owns FDs but I'm constantly adding FC bushings and suspension components to my website. Check it out: www.j-auto.net
