mazdaracing comp pullies anybody got them??

Hi all I have an 87 TII with straight through exhaust, no ps, and no a/c. I was looking for a lightwieght underdrive main pulley(before anyone says it I know its not for street use and could cause problems by underdriving the alt/water pump). I just wanted to know if anyone has the competition mazda racing pullies Heres the link if you dont have it

http://www.mazdaracing.com/pulleysystem.asp

Since I dont have ps/ac/smog pump would this be a good setup for my project?? Also its attractive to me because i will be running a large turbo and no slip would be better than what I have now. Also if anyone has this setup what type of gains did you see from it??

$250 could be better spent in a lot of other places.

Sdrotary. DO you kno wof the gains for it.T he website doesnt really say it just says add hp and free up rotational mass. I am curious as to what kind of number you would see from this setup. Plus its not just the fact of doing that but right now there is always a chance of slipping a belt wtih no v belt running to the a/c.

How do you get anything from Mazda Racing? I have been trying to get some one there to return a call or respond to an email since right after Thanksgiving concern their short shifter kit and shift ****. I've sent two emails, and called the phone number on the website. No response!

I've also checked ebay and they aren't offering the shifter kits there either. Are they in business anymore? If you can get one shipped to me I'll pay you their full posted price for the kit and ****.

Anybody who claims 10-15hp just from pullies shouldn't really be trusted to provide accurate or honest info...

I have a full set of those and 2 main pulleys. They are not something you want on the street. The alternator and water pump pullies are the same size as stock. The main pulley is extremely small. Far too small for street use. The water pump turns SLOWER than the engine and the alternator turns about the same speed as the engine. If you only drive above 8500 rpm then these might be beneficial to you. I intend to use the water pump and alternator pullies but not the mains. I'm not that crazy. I only acquired mine because the engraving is messed up on mine and couldn't be sold as new. I'll gladly get rid of the mains.

FWIW: My source says they were only dyno proven to give a 3 hp gain not 10. Mazda Racing is also a name that was trade marked. They have absolutely nothing in common with Mazda.

The main reason to get race pullys is to underdrive the water pump, not gain HP. They slow down the water pump so it doesnt cavitate at hogh RPMs and cause you to loose cooling power.

Correct, and you only need that for contant, high-rpm useage, i.e. a racecar, not a street car that spends most of it's time under 3000rpm.

Maybe he only sells to California Rotarians? At least he could actually reply to an email with ordering instructions or another phone number to call to make a phone order.
