I doubt it. It's been a year since I've ordered one through the dealer, but I picked up a Mazda one today from Maztech here in Tampa. He has to get them from somewhere.

Try another dealer (mine had them in stock) or just order through Mazdatrix or Mazdaformance.

And since I just bought one today, try this part number from Mazda: 8AF6-15-171.

I just bought one a few weeks ago for an 88 T2. Make sure you get one with the jiggle pin.

Your dealer is smoking crack.
Those thermostat are also used for other Mazda vehicle models, so if they are discontinued, this would affect a whole bunch of Mazda models.

What is the problem with the after market thermostats? I put an after market in my car several years ago and have had no problem with.
