You mean keeping the NA block and somehow mangling a turbo onto it?

I wouldn't push your stock internals past 8000. There's just no need for it.

I dont see any need to go past 6000. Most turbo's that would be used on the FC NA should spool quick otherwise your going to have entirely way to much turbo lag in the low end and not make up for the lack of low end torque.

Max would be around 13k if you didn't care about the life of the engine and had the spark and gas to keep up. 8k is about right though.

I have a funny story about this. I know for sure the stock turbo II block can take a rev to 8320. I was teaching my girlfriend how to drive manual. She never made it into second.

Sure, the block can take revs that high...is it meant to sustain them? No.

I've missed shifts sending out some high RPMs....

I'll even admit to something bad:
When I was YOUNG, I had my '83. I put a bet that I could PEG the tach longer than someone with a freaking tracker. Pegged the tach over 8K, for about 30-45 seconds....the tracker needed a tow truck all said and done. Hindsight, I probably reduced the lifespan of the motor.

That's funny as hell Josepi... I've never heard of a contest so effective in proving the stupidity of a geo owner. Especially one who talks ****.

As for the boosting an N/a Block. It really would depend on the turbo you use and the intercooler and associated engine management. We have the ability to run higher revs (increased intake durration for better high rpm flow) but are limited to lower boost levels due to the stock compression being too high.

Now, if you were to rebuild your 6 port motor with S4 turbo rotors... mmmmmm now thats a interesting motor idea.

The stationary gears deform at high RPMs.
