Fix it and then, wooooosssssssssshhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so many people with probs over 100.....i had my old 86 na going 130 something or 140 before i got tooscared and slowed down. still creepin power out in 5th. just when all these cars going 65 looked like they were stopped on the freeway....kinda got freaky....changin lanes like every sec or 2 and passin exits ever couple secs. creppy but cool!! never did it again tho.

thats not gunna make any difference i dont think, i had 5 lugs on all tires, and then i got rid of these stupid lock things now i have 4 lugs on ALL 4 tires. had my car up to 142 today (i know this is correct since i passed a radar thing on my way ) speedo read 156. and my car was SMOOTHER than it is at 85, or 90... 4th gear till about 125-130 then 5th all the way up, and i had plenty power remaining. 86GLX
Mura, I was kidding. The stud missing, believe it or not, over time will make a difference. Easy to change. Hammer and punch, drive it out. Parts store has new one. Also, take off all four tire, and you will see some sort of either defect, or bubble on one of them. Tire defect, or low air pressure. Have faith, over 100 is in sight. Be patient, and careful.

Hmmm, old cars pushed to thier limits
Tech_Greek, I don't know if your car's slower than it should be or something, but it seems like it is really struggling in 3rd and 4th gears. I know I have one of the slowest FC's and the revs climb way way faster and I've hit 130+ in 4th and have never run it to the redline in any gear. Just seems like it should climb a bit faster.
But yeah, my experience is also that the 5th gear is a super long gear, good for getting the gas mileage that madza claims for the cars. I know in normal driving( hardly ever use 5th) and revving high, I get like 10 mpg. On the highway it's more like 18-20mpg.
My 5th gear does still climb, just ever so slow that it's silly.

I'm going to do a full tune up Friday and have all of my stuff ordered already for it so I'm hoping it makes a difference.
PO said Spark Plug Wires, Spark Plugs, Oil was changed but the oil filter looks burnt so I doubt it was changed and the spark plug exterior is white I just haven't taken them out yet to check the damage to see if they were changed or not, I'm in denial!
The oil does look a pretty brown so maybe they did the vacuum method on it, who knows.I want to change all the fluids out with the best, Royal Purple is usually what I look at.
