Mass Airflow sensor ??

I have a 88 t2. I have been looking at the many cold air intake kits that are avaible. But none of the pictures or info has been able to answer me questions. How do they install with the mass air flow ? One of my freinds said maybe you can convert it to a 3 bar style mass. Is this possible ? Because i hate how bulky the sensor is.

The sensor is generally referred to as an AFM on these forums. Your car has a flapper style AFM in a square case.

There is no easy/cheap way to convert to a MAP sensor.

Most intakes from rotary dealers will include the appropriate adapter to connect the filter to your AFM. If buying from someone else, you need to check to see if the adapter is included.
