Mass airflow meter 86 N/A S4

I have a question on the Mass airflow meter.

I recently got a mass airflow meter from AutoZone. It was re-mfg unit so I tested it per the FSM on foxed.ca.

Everything looked good till I started to move the flapper back in the housing and watch the ohm's. . . . . It was within spec of 50 to 500 I suppose.

It was at 0 closed and the moment you pushed on it, the ohms would rise but there seem to be some dead spots .. . .And it would get to 600 ohms about 3/4 open and then it starts decreasing in Ohms back down to about 200 at full open.

The FSM simply says pin E2 to pin Vs is 50 to 500 ohms. .closed to open. . . . . .I assume that means 50 at open and 500 at near full open.

Needless to say I returned the autozone unit and I will get another one cause AutoZone is good like that.. . . . .

But what should I expect when I measure ohms on the flapper while pushing it in?
