fixing s4 AFM's that are stuck??

ive got at least 5 of these things,i put them in one of those plastic containers and set them in the shed many years ago,i dug them out the other day and find that their all corroded shut(the flapper doors) from i guess humidity,is there a known fix? wd-40? these things are seriously stuck closed and i tried with a little force to open them by hand HALP!! THANX!!

i'd hate to see what they look like inside the electrical portion then.. probably not worth wasting time on.


bout the only thing you can do is soak them in PB blaster for a day or so and try again.

thanx,ive never looked inside one,is there alot of open circuitry? doesnt that flapper have to move easily in order for the afm to work precisely?

yes and yes. the circuit portion is supposed to be sealed but the humidity could have gotten in there too if it was completely sealed in a bag and it corroded anyways.
