I put marvel mystery oil in my gastank for a while, it helped clean some crap out of the motor i bet. plus it's good insurance against trashing the motor unexpectedly due to OMP failure. 4oz per 10 gallons is what they recommend. I was doing it religiously until I dropped the turkey baster i was measuring it with into some sand and didn't bother to clean it yet so haven't been using it...

MMO is ok to use in gas and oil it's a kerosine based additive cleaner and is safe in both. Just READ the big bottles label or do a search online there is plenty of things online about it. It has been around for a very long time and is used in marine and aviation use.

Marvel Mystery oil has been around a long time. I had a '58 MGA with a judsen supercharger. It had a valve cover with a reservoir on one end that you filled with Marvel Mystery oil(it said right on it to use MMO only), and a line lead to the supercharger. The MMO was to lube the micarta vains in the supercharger and the oil didn't seem to effect the running of the engine(it ran real clean.)

Manufacturer's recommendations:
I called the US distributer of MMO (Turtle Wax) and he confirmed that the 12oz size was the same product as the larger ones! Try http://www.marvelmysteryoil.com and see where it takes you, follow the links to performance products and finally Marvel. There you will see that the product numbers take the form: #MM012
I located the Material Safety Data Sheet and it also lists the product codes MM010 through MM018 as being the same chemical composition. The guy that handles the calls for Marvel and CD2 (Rich) said the reason for the different sizes and labels is more for marketing convenience and recommended 1 12oz bottle for 15-20 gal of gas or when used as an oil treatment at the ratio of 10-25% of the total oil change.
I added 12oz to the fuel and 12oz to the oil and I'd say that the engine has never run smoother (at idle or revin' up) and even when it's in the higher gears the engine pulls harder too!
