pedals, speedo cable?, wiring harness (or jump out the neutral safety switch in the harness: I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS!), crossmember, and most important get the mounting areas out of the donor car so you have a place to mount the crossmember to because they mount in a different spot, pilot bearing, PB seal, clutch kit, clutch master and slave, get the stainless braided line between the master and slave from mazdatrix or other. The only thing I have done that was more difficult than this job was the RHD swap, it is not that bad but to do it right takes some time.
Edit: shift boot and shifter surround. PM me if you have any questions

I have every thing you said except i didn't know that the auto and manual mount in diffrent places. thank you, also i just found today that the drive lines are diffrent but thats all right i have the the other one. (took it just in case) but the problem i ran into is the mount on the diffrental in the 85 has a diffrent bolt patern then the 79 drive line. (propeller shaft) I'm just going to make an all day trip to the junk yark pull a 79 mount and put it in the differntal. oh ya i did notice that the shifter bout is diffrent also but thats easy to fix. (Drill and tap new holes. LOL Thank you for the info on the mounting brakets i didn't even think of that when i started.

I was considering this myself. I have an 88 with a 12A engine. As far as I understand the 1st gen and 2nd gen engines and transmissions can all work together once the wiring is figured out. Is this corect? I want to go from an automatic to manual in my 88 and keep the 12A until a later date as my parts car's engine is bad and I can't use it without a rebuild. The parts car is a complete 88 manual na car and the one I'm fixing is the same except with a auto tranny and 12 engine. How long can I expect to take under taking this job? Are there any special tools I will need or seals that have to be replaced. What would an 88 Auto tranny with 167,000 kms sell for?

dont think you will get much for the trans but I think the 12a and 13b match the trans no problem. This is doable in a weekend if you have decent ability and everything listed above.
