Anyone out there with any suggestions on this problem. S5 NA to TII swap. JDM engine and transmission and N370 ECU. The problem is that when the car is idling in neutral, it runs great. When placed in gear with the clutch in, the engine starts to spit and sputter. It almost sounds as if one rotor cuts out. I believe I have connected the reverse light switch and the neutral switch properly, but that is the only link between the transmission and the ecu. Any ideas?

 

How is your clutch engagement?

 

does it sputter when you have the clutch pedal down while not in gear?

 

Thanks for the responses. The car only sputters when in gear with the clutch in. It still sputters when the clutch is let out in gear. It does not sputter when ideling in neutral. It has a new clutch and engagement is strong.
