manifold/header
hi im puttin a RacingBeat header on my 86. i have all the bolts off except the top two!!help, what would be the easiest way to get to and take off the top bolts on the header?
is there anything i should take off to make this easier? thanx PEACE!!

I pretty sure you don't have to take anything else off to get the manifold off, but it may make it easier if you take the 5th and 6th port acctuators off, and then unscrew the nuts. Other than that all you need is a good extension.

well theres like to air valves or something in the way of the top bolt i can get a socket on it but using an extension is nearly impossible the valves r in the way!! i tried take them off but they wont come lose, would it be easier to just take off the intake manifold? looks like a pain!! anymore suggestions!!

Those are the 5th and 6th port acctuators, just get a 10mm socket and take the two 10mm nuts off that hold eah one on. And since you said they won't come off spray the nuts with some PB blaster, and it should break loose. Or you could just get a swivel for your extension.

No, it will just slide off of the bar that it is hooked to. If you get them unbolted, just give it a little wiggle to break it loose, and then pull it straight out to you, make sure that the rod is not rusted or froze to the bar that it is hooded to so that you don't bend the acctuators rod.
