bp12a what clutch?

Its a 225 mm clutch out of an 83-85 transmission

the cars engine setup is
12a bridgeport with notched housings
racingbeat intake manifold/headers
holley 600
direct fire ignition
efan
and a few more mods

i'm trying to shoot for atleast 200 at the wheels what clutch would be good for this?
the stock one seems really weak so and i've got a new clutch master/slave cylinder setup

I've always been partial to the "Centerforce" dual friction clutches, but I haven't put one in my seven yet, thats going in with the motor and suspension swap next. They are smooth and great for street and mild competition.

I have a Stage 3 ceramic clutch on the widebody. Love it. Pedal is a little heavier than stock, but not much. Never slips with the wide tires and I can feather it, which one needs with a highly ported engine. Unless you like doing 3500 rpm rabbit starts all the time like some puck clutches can do.

oh sorry my bad

but anyways most of them think it sounds like a pissed off weed eater but i told them its quicker than their v6 mustangs and it won't blow up when it hits about 6k rpm haha

and yea i haven't had anything to really work on since its this cold and the fact that the cars at rd now

got 2 more dents i wanted to fix before paint so i'll try and get them finished tomorrow

today was cut short cause we all had to go watch some video on structural repair
so i only got one dent done

Your bridge port engine is going to turn a lot of rpms, and I would not recommend any type of organic clutch material; only sintered metal clutches. I have been running a PP road racer for about 13 years now. After about one year of using a good organic race clutch disc, one day the clutch disc exploded on me. It could not take the sustained high rpm use (I shift at 8800 to 9000 rpm.)

Since then I have been using only sintered bronze or copper clutch discs with no failures.

i don't think i'll be shifting at 9 very often though unless i get to take it to like road atlanta or something or an actual track

seeing how i already got the cops called on me and kicked out of a neighborhood for going the damn speed limit ( cause it sounds so loud even at 35 mph )

Thumbs down

then why dont you re-read your original question noob. and ask yourself why you own an engine that is built for racing and expect it not to attract attention.

derrik maybe u should look in to changing the muffler to quieten it down some. alto u'll have to live with the lesser hp it'll create. which probably wont be that noticeable.

i never said i didn't think it would attract attention but the mufflers already been quieted down once and i'm about to try and get a presilencer made for it

i know that its not a regular car and i'm not building it for that
the question was basically which clutch would be the best for the power its making without burning up too fast or without having to workout to press the clutch in

i'm going to try and put one of my stock clutch setups in until i can get the clutch that it really needs

and i know these are noob questions because i've never really had any cars that i've had to mess with the clutch or anything

but anyways if i'm pulling my stock clutch off my spare tranny then what are some signs that i can use it or what are signs that its shot

a sign that it's worn out is that it will slip an excessive amount. like in 4th or 5th and u floor it, the revs start increasing but ur really not moving any faster.
