Man, FC's are easy to steal!!
Well, I went down to my local autoparts store today to pick up a few things. I got back in my car, and began to install what I bought. I realized that I had forgotten something in the store. I jumped out of my car, quickly closed and locked my doors, and began walking in. Halfway there I realized I had just locked my keys in the car.
I spent a few minutes in the lot thinking of what the hell I would do. I lost my spare key about a week ago so I had no clue. I decided I would call a locksmith from inside the autoparts store.
I went in and told the guy what happened. He said he had a slim jim and his car and could he have a crack at it? I told him sure why not.
He went out and got the slim jim and slipped it in. He had the door open in less than 5 seconds. He had never done it on an RX7 before and he also said that he had never gotten a car unlocked in less than 10 minutes.
The whole incident kind of scared me. It's way to easy to break into my car. I need an alarm system or something! Anyone else have similiar problems?

I can relate with the slim jim on the RX-7, it usually takes me 2-3 seconds to get in. I've broke into my car many times with it when the key to my door was broke. My ignition key has been different from the door locks since day one and since the door lock key was different it took me a while to get new locks bought for the car since it only had one key for them all.. Never thought to try my key on any other 7's before, I may have to check it out sometime.. LOL

Does anyone have a solution to the problem? Is getting an alarm installed the only way to do this? I guess newer locks might help as well.
I just don't want to put a lot of money into my car then have it stolen.

My car had some stupid *** aftermarket alarm system that would say "PLEASE STEP AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE" and such, god damn did that **** me off. I solved that by installing a turbo engine, best anti-theft device ever, damn car never runs right!
Yeah, the FC is surprisingly very easy to steal. One or two skinney flathead screwdrivers is all you need. Been practicing on my GXL parts car. The locks aren't built as solid as my BMW.
when you get the alarm, also get a pietzo ringer, they are high pitch wailers and if you have enough of them its almost impossible to work in the environment. I'm not saying its the ultimate anti-theft device, but the way I see it, if they are going to steal my ****, im gonna make them work for it.
