making templates

is it okay to make my own templates for street ports? just for intake and exhaust? im on a deadline with rebuilding my engine, i doubt i can have one ordered and shipped to me in time, i plan to begin cleaning my housings, engine bay, and other work tomorrow, possibly finishing the rebuild saturday or sunday.

If you have to ask that question, you don't know enough about the engine to do your own porting.

Buy the templates, they makes things less likely to get screwed up.

but your sig says
If 99% of people on a car enthusiast board are too lazy to build some of their own stuff, maybe they should consider themselves shopping enthusiasts. -Miata.net
i thought id try and be in that 1% that does stuff themselves jk. but seriously i just got off the phone with my bud who is a mechanic, and who got me to get a 2nd gen, he says its more of an art than a science and that i could do it if i took my time. thx for the reply, im just in it for the learning experience. i dont have time to wait for a template, as i stated before.
