to each his own i guess.

I did it because i had to. the gp bumper was blocking air flow to my ic and rad. I tried making some creative ducting but it didnt change much. sooo i did what i had to do.

i didnt really like it too much at first... because it looks different. Im pretty sure thats one of the main reasons i like it now is because it is different than every other gps kit out there.

here is a short video so you can get a better look at it.

Just cut the moulding out... Looks way better than cutting a square out of the bumper... The turbulence from the air coming through the moulding cutout and the original bumper cutout simultaneously, will bring the air together and cover the entire intercooler anyways... No need for a big hole...

I've personally always hated the look of an enormous hole in the front of the bumper. The nose of the RX-7 is so sleek looking stock that either cutting 50% of it away or putting on some awful high-looking aftermarket bumper makes my eyes hurt. Instead what I'm doing with mine is installing a scoop on the undertray. Rice scoops are available relatively cheap and it is a simple matter to cut a hole in the undertray to bring in some fresh air. It's obviously not as good as taking a chunk out of the bumper, but in my opinion it's far more elegant.

Function over form. If it aids in cooling, who gives a **** what it looks like I always say. Its tough to see the front bumper when your fellow racer is loosing

Wow. Really curious as to what insane amount of boost/temps you push thru that requires such a huge intercooler. How much difference in intake air temps with the cut bumpers? Might do the same on a slightly smaller scale if there's a noticeable improvement in IC performance.
