Making a Rear Cargo Cover--Help Needed!

Hello: I don't have the rear cargo cover for my 87 TII, but I'd like to make one. I've got the speaker covers that were used with the rear cover, and all of my materials (carbon fiber, aluminum, and such).

What I need to move the project along is for someone with a rear cargo cover to trace an outline of it on a large sheet of paper. I'd be glad to cover postage and such.

When I searched the forum for this topic, there was only one other active thread--not much help there...

If someone could help out, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Vince

It helps a lot--must remember to clearance for the rear wiper motor on the left side. I do, however, still need a trace outline of one to create a nice template.

Thanks,

Vince

How much would something like that run?

I've already got a sheet of carbon fiber--I was just going to reinforce it with an aluminum frame and call it a day.

I'm interested to see how this would turn out--the other interior bits look nice.

Make a template out of cardboard first. Simple.

Yes, that would be simple--especially if I had a trace outline of a cover to begin with. Not as simple otherwise. I tried making a template, but the rear hatch is not a simple shape--many curves and angles, and I want to make it look good.

A trace outline takes the guesswork out of the whole project.

the guys at the shop said they would maybe do it if the backing is there and also they would build the Tower/speaker covers as well cause not all models have that style cover but the price would be a lil more cause of that reason
