Making My Own Port Controller

OK guys i need some advice for making my port controller.....Im going to base it off of rpm's and basically use the internals of a shift light. I know how to wire the sensors and switches, but the pressurized air source is the only gray area. I have an air valve I can use. I just need to figure out how to connect to the air pump.

Can anyone offer some insight? yes i did search but it didnt come up with a specefic answer or the thread just dropped off with no info. thanks.

You won't able to use the stock air pump with any regular results, because it's out put increases with RPM's and is sometimes altered by the ACV (in my experience the ACV made it an unreliable source of pressure).

I would run a 12V pump and use a solenoid valve. Solenoid would normally be on dump and the RPM switch would switch 12V to the solenoid and switch the pressure to the actuators.

Go to the junkyard and find a car that has airshocks. I've got a friend that has an 80-somthing cadilac that has the "auto leveling" shocks in the rear.

Cheap, reliable, small. I've used these with great success.

Early 90's Lincolns.... Driver's side in front of wheel well. 1/4" drive socket set will pull it easily.
