Making More HP N/A!??!

allright, i know use the search... blah blah, i cant find answers really.....
so im asking you N/A guys, i've got my New air filter, with a custom ram air made, Full 2.75" straight through exhaust and Racing beat headers on the way. Other than taking the engine out to port the damn thing, what else can i get to up my HP???? oh and 550cc secondaries are in there as well. I was just wondering what some of you guys have done, and how its worked for you..
thanks!

how far do you wanna go? a nice bridgeport and standalone? you won't need the 550s (where/what are they from?) with a typical port. if you really want power, a bridge might be an option. you're really gonna want a standalone, too.
S5 (91 ideally) rotors.
i'm curious to see what others say. preferably people that have made power, not those who think there's a certain barrier at some given power that can't be passed without p-porting.

550s wont be needed. Stock fuel system is fine for prettty much any modded n/a. You might look into getting an S-AFC II fuel controller. Many people gain around 10rwhp from dyno tuning with one.

Ignition should be one of the last things you do. Power gains are very minimal, but theres a nice little gain in gas mileage.

N/A power is hard to do, a street port at least is needed.

You can also put someof the Pineapple 6 port sleeves in place of the stockers...Or just remove them. As others have said already N/A power is relativly hard to find without spending some cash. I personally like the bridge and standalone idea myself.

Also this won't keep you N/A...but you could add a SC from camden for some extra power.

Standalone and putting the stock injectors back in will give you the most power for your money if you are not going to port the engine. That setup has netted 183 whp on a stockport s4 N/A for someone here.

well, the AFM reads the air charging through it, so thats a hint.
standalone allows you to remove the AFM and tune well. s-afc is good, but standalone is better with no comparison.
again, how far do you want to go?
the renesis rotors are another thing, but they take a bit more work (well worth it, just make sure you or whoever knows what to do).
i want to say T2 plates are good for flow/better design, but that may be 'turbo-specific.'

if it were me with money and n/a power goals:
standalone (well tuned!)
bridgeport
renesis rotors (better stationary gears if they fit renesis rotors)
turbo irons (if better; research!) or working 6 ports
good ignition setup
bigger secondaries
good clutch/pressure plate (depending how hard of a bite you can stand)
light flywheel
factory lsd rear
ported throttle body
(intake manifold mods?)
well made intake

check out icemark's ride...it's a very simple, very streetable setup that will pass emissions and toss 170+ on the dyno. throw that in a base model S4 with a nice suspension and you've got a very quick NA street car. he does this WITH a cat and the stock manifold.

The HP gains going with the S5 rotors is around 4-5 hp. Thats it. They are lighter though.

Hey, get those 550'cc's OUTTA THERE!
You are loosing a good bit of power by having them in there. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.
You've already got the exhaust aspect going on there- Good.
Now, the emphasis has to be one of 2 things- fuel tuning, and intake.
The latter depends on whether you have an 86-88, or 89-91.
To get the most power-
Dyno tune with an S-AFC.
A good 10 hp at LEAST- mostly in the midrange, really wakes it up.
Take the 6 post sleeves out- ditch the actuation system (and air pump!!) and take the 6 port sleeves out- put a nice curve in the end with epoxy, and trim out the sides if you want- or buy the pinapple racing sleeves- premade. and then put the lseeves back in.
New air filter? Hopefully a K/N cone filter- it's the best there is.
Bump the timing up by a few degrees, no more. just a few extra degrees.
Cut the crush washers off the spark plugs. You get it closer to the combustion, and a few more lbs compression.
INTAKE- Take off your intake and port it- beleive me, the stock inatke is VERY restrictive. You can get a lot of extra power by porting the available areas. BUT consistancy is the key- you don't want large areas and small areas.

Get an electric fan. Frees up a ton of space, and a bit of free HP.

Loose some weight. Fee HP there!!
Any more questions, just ask me. I had a 14 second GXL NA S5 with full stereo- the heaviest NA made!!! I could have lost several hundred lbs and been in the 13's.. instead I put on a turbo.. hehe

Would expoxy in the 5/6 ports sleeves work?
I was just thinking about this a few days ago because I didnt' want to spend so much for the pineapple sleeves.

I looked at the archived post, and looked at this one. I would like to see a list of the best steps to take when upgrading HP/Torque. I know it will be based on a person's judgement, but just something for me to work off.

Preferably people who have actually got the N/A output up dramatically would write the list.

Dunno if this will work out, but I'd like to see peoples different opinions on the order/things to do in a easy to read list.
