Make engine torque brace?

I searched and all I came up with was installs of the Racing Beat engine torque brace. I'm not really into paying for something pre made when I can make something myself. Has anyone ever made one? If so please help me out here. I've got some ideas for one, but haven't really planned anything out yet. Also, is it better to use a dampener/shock or the screw type that you can tighten down.

I tend to build mine integral into the rear of a chromoly tubed triangulated strut tower brace, linked to the transmission casing at two points. I use no shocks. I've never had anyone tell me they wanted the shocks... people tend to come to me for racing products they want me to build/put on their street car.
