WHy did you take off the whole pulley setup with pulley boss? What were you trying to do?
The only time the pulley boss and main bolt comes out is to install a oil thermo bypass pellet, or to take apart the engine/front cover.
The key holds several sprockets and bearings in place...once it is removed, you have a 50/50 chance of getting it back in blindfolded...if none of them moved on their own, it would go back all the way in. IF they did, even a little, then youll have to take it all apart to start from the beginning and place each part where it must go, or else you can cause some MAJOR damage to the engine if you run it and one of those bearings inside is not seated right anymore.
Looks like youre pulling a front cover.

i was putting racing beat puuleys on so i had to pull the main pulleys to take them apart. pulled the front cover and the conter balance thing has a grove in it that had swung down. put back in place and the key went right back in.
The torrington bearings are behind the counterweight, adn are what normally gets out of place when you take pressure off of them. I hope they didnt fall while pressure was off, or youll be doing the job again.
