my budy gave ma a aluminum intake pipe, i need to get a filter and a few rubber fittings to make it fit right. but i cant do any of that becuase the MAF sensor wont fit the pipe. so am i going to be limited to keeping the old air box or can i find a maf sensor from a different car to put right in front of the throttle body, or just behind the filter before the intake pipe.

NO, YOU CANT JUST SWAP OUT THE AFM!!
You need an adaptor: http://rx7cz.net/shop/
. . . well, unless you go aftermarket EMS like I did, but hey, I have a feeling thats not the case here :p

So what if the plugs are different, it's not like this is something you can't work around.
Now whos the *** that put WRONG in my reputation bullshit regarding my post in this thread? I havent done the mod myself but there was a thread about this over on nopistons a while back where this image was taken from, someone else did it.
I see no reason to do it really, but if you're gonna run around saying its WRONG as if it's not possible you know what you can do.
I recommend going the adapter route, or get a damn standalone or HKS VPC to ditch the AFM altogether.

It's not "the plug". The signal itself is rather different.
You're giving wrong information, MAFs are not cheep, and then they'd end up with a non running car, a hacked wiring harness, and a lot of questions.
You reccomend going the standalone route? Just because he wants to put on an intake pipe?
And you're attacking ME because you posted incorrect information you know nothing about to a newbie? Whats the problem here?
Perhaps you misunderstood what the adaptor is for, it's so that the square hole he was talking about that comes off the MAF becomes circular so you can put the intake pipe or cone on the other side of the MAF.
