Question LSD swap question...

I have an 88 RX-7 N/A and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a LSD. I read that some 2nd gen N/As do, factory error or something....Anyway my question is my friend is parting out his 86 GXL and I was wondering if the LSD from it would bolt into mine.

Yeah man, it'll swap with out a hitch. The only ones that you will have a problem with would be if you were using one from a TII, which, in that case you would have to swap the halfshafts, and get a special driveshaft. Good luck man, let us know how you like gettin rrreeaaalll sideways (esp in the rain, damn they are slick in the rain)

?????
As covered many times before (you may wish to use the search function found in the upper right hand corner), the following FC's can stock with a LSD:

the 86-88 GXL
the 87-91 Turbo II
the 88 GTU
the 89-90 GTUs

i used the search and found that apparently on some n/a, they came stock with lsd. It was due to some sort of factory error and was rare. That is what i read. If you dont beleive me YOU use the search and find the post im talking about. I didnt think it was such a big deal.

Anyone know how much oil the LSD holds? How much liquid do I have to put in there?

And I know this is even more off topic: How do you go about changing it/cleaning the old oil out?

Once Again: BASIC INFORMATION IS IN THE FSM!

Go here: http://www.fc3s.org/how_tos/manuals/88_fsm.html then click on #21: Technical Data Page 15 of 21 Capacity 1.3 Qts of API Service GL-5 SAE80W for open diff, GL-5 SAE90 (Special Lubricant for limited Slip Differential)

This info is for 86-88 Diffs ONLY!

Remove Drain Plug, drain old lube out into a drain pan, replace drain plug, remove fill plug, fill to bottom of hole, reinstall fill plug.

Again that would be incorrect. There was no factory error. If there is a LSD on a different car than what is posted above, then it has been retrofitted after it left the ship.
