lsd from gxl

i have an 87 na base model and was wondering if an lsd from an 87 na gxl would fit my car and does anyone no wat tools i need to get it off. (do it yourself junkyard). and if it doesnt fit can i just switch driveshafts

i think the biggest socket you need is like a 22 or so. but its simple and a direct replacement if you take the whole housing and leave the stub axles in. if you lived near me i would help ya out

Drop the whole rear subframe out: half shafts, hubs and all. If I remember correctly, there are about 4 bolts holding the frame up and 4 attaching the diff to the driveshaft. Once out from under the car, you can mess with removing whatever you don't want.

yeah thats what i did. im not sure f you need the half shaft though i never got around to installing mine. i sold it because im going to put in a miata diff.
