you don't NEED anything but springs, but my advice is if replacing the springs you may as well do struts, too
10-year old struts are probably no good and it's a pain to have to take them out again when you do the struts

If you have the budget $ - struts & coilovers.
If you are cheap (like me) - a grinder with a cut-off wheel.
Either way - If you drop more than 1 inch, you will have to adjust camber.

Pretty much if your car is lowered more than an inch and if I am wrong which I seem to be these days it is over 1.5 to 2.0 inches the camber needs to be adjusted. Camber being if the wheel turns in or turns out. One usually sees this on drift cars since it allows the back end to slide out a little easier if set up right. Ok....I am horrible at explaining things. Camber on stock cars is around:

Camber if changed would look like:

\ / / \
Yeah pretty much

thats not camber, camber is where the top or bottom of wheel is further in or out
i would not recommend the grinding wheel (ie cutting springs) it is not a recommended way to lower a car
what you're showing is toe-in/toe-out
as far as struts go, do you want a well-handling car?
go with coilovers (like was said before, if you got the $, those things cost about $1500-2000), i recently replaced my stock struts (on front, with stock)
and it made a noticeable difference
if i had the money, i would go with kyb or tokico adjustables, but stock is cheap

Suspension Techniques are that cheap from shox.com
K2rd has KYB AGX shocks for $355 which is a good deal. That's the setup I'm running and it lowers nice. I'm not sure the exact measurement but they claim an inch. All I know is it looks good to me.
sorry, no pics though. If only I knew someone with a digicam.

I would by them if they lowered it a bit more. That is, if I was looking for springs. Most people will talk **** about low priced stuff simply because it is low priced. Now me, I always looking for a bargin.
