lowering boost with non adjustable wastegate

My wastegate is at 14psi, and the turbo has about a 3 inch inlet, and im running to much boost for right now. Is there anyway for me to turn the boost down temporarily? thanks.

What car?
What engine?
What turbo?
What wastegate?

No useful info = no useful answers...

Cut out part of your exhaust and put a 1.5" diameter pipe there.

Use an exhaust restrictor. I made one for practially nothing and used it until I upgraded my turbo and ported the wastegate.

Remove the gasket at the end of the downpipe and use it for a template on a thin piece of sheet metal. Trace the outline of the gasket and mark the boly holes. THEN, reduce the diameter of the inside diameter - if the exhaust is 3", reduce it to 2.25" or 2.5".

What you end up with is what resembles an exhaust gasket but with a reduced inner diameter.

For me, with a stock wastegate and open exhaust I had to go with 2.25" and I had to do it twice because I tried 2.5" first. Then I had to make another one. Save yourself some time and go with 2.25" to start with.

Bolt the exhaust restrictor in at the end of the downpipe. You can even get another exhaust gasket to sandwich the restrictor between - but I bolted mine together and it didn't leak.

Cost - nearly free.

Oh sorry guys, Its a 10th AE, so its an S4 Turbo. The turbo charger is a TEC sport 350. The compressor housing is a garrett with a .60 A/R, its an internal wastegate and is non adjustable with an internal spring set at 14psi. The only exhaust on the thing is a racing beat 3 inch stainless downpipe.

just like a couple off the members that just replied you cant bring down boost manualy but you can watch the boost gauge and shift at that desireble boost level

ur spring is set at 14psi?

that's odd...don't usually see them that high on an internal WG

so is it going higher than 14? or u want it even less than 14?

Like the other guy's mentioned beforehand you cant lower boost manually.
What I recommend is that you install a presilencer on your exhaust system.
Use something similar to the Racing Beat presilencer that should help you out.
Also chaosseven is on the money you can try to do what he is saying and it should work.
Obviously you need to restrict the system so you dont spike boost.
All I can tell you from personal experience is keep the boost to 10-11 psi max.
Especially on the stock airflow meter or you will blow the motor in a heart beat.
By the way what set up are you using for fuel?

Any method that restricts airflow essentially lowers VE, and performance suffers throughout the entire load/rev range as a result. Much better would be to either make the wastegate flow better or get a more suitable wastegate actuator.

Where to you get the turbo? If it's new, have you asked the supplier for help?
