lower manifold question

Had a quick question. I have been having a problem forming a good seal with the upper and lower manifolds. I know some problems have included me shearing a stud (which I just successfully extracted), trying to reuse old gaskets with some rtv among other things.

I am going to buy new gaskets after cleaning off the old ones and now that the stud is extracted I should be good there too. My question is note the metal pieces show in the pic. I am not sure what I would call them. One is part of the emissions vac metal nest the other holds some connectors. Do those get sandwiched between the upper and lower manifold?

Just seems with those in between you will never get a good seal unless they imprint into the new gasket? Just was to get confirmation before putting it all together again.

Thanks as always!

If anything they go on top not inbetween. You may also want to use some gasket sealer. I use gaskanetch(bought at mazdatrix.com)
