Low Impedance Injectors
Low Impedance Injectors
I'm switching to a R-tek stage 1.7 with the stock turbo.
I have a set of low impedance 550cc and 720cc injectors. Wil this work without changing anything or should I track down high impedance injectors?
Any feedback would be awesome.
Thanks.

The ecu sees HI Impedance,so either you have a harness that has resistors in line with the injectors,A resistor pack that connects them inline with the Injectors OR get HI impedance Injectors.
Your question is a common one.

Judging by your name, I'm assuming you have an 87? As long as no one has been in there before and changed the stock setup, your car should be set up to use low impedance injectors with a resistor pack in the emissions harness.

..If he uses the 87 N/A harness and hook it up to his Turbo engine, then Yes,he will be fine...(early 87 though.)
Hey guys, thanks for your input. It's not an 87. That was my first car. It's a 1990 RHD. As for a harness, I don't have one yet. I'm removing my megasquirt and turbo setup to go back to stock. So I will probably us a stock harness out of a 1990 JDM car.
Oh and the ECU is N374 and the injectors are from my previous build. I have the stock 550cc high impedance injectors but want to upgrade a little (stage 1.7 opposed to 1.5). If it's a huge deal I'll just do the stage 1.5 from rtek but i was just wondering since i had these other injectors if I could use them.

you know it is always good to inform members of your Dilemma and be specific.
In the future state it clearly. The s5 is a totally different setup.
Good luck with the N374 ECU,you will need it.They are nothing but problems.(you need an N370)

Rtek7 ECU Upgrade Detailed Information
87Adam - If you want to use low impedance injectors, pick up some resistors to wire in-line. 6 ohm, 10+ watt resistors will work and mimic the resistor pack found in early S4s. Wire them in (solder!) at the ECU connector for easy placement. Your bigger challenge will be injector pigtails will all have to be cut off and replaced with the rectangular S4 versions. There are some aftermarket sources for this type of plug.

You do not mention Car,engine,..anything.
Trying to get info from you is like pulling teeth.
Can you Elaborate on what you are working with so someone can help you further?
14 posts and you are providing info on the fly.
No offense Adam, but if you can just take a minute and type in more info then you can get everything answered.
Right now it is like "Psychic JO-JO" trying to figure out your car setup, the parts that you have, or your intended goal.

RotoryRocket88 already answered the initial question. I did mention more specifically what I was looking foir after your first post. I was refering to this comment to see if a stock s4 harness would be better than wiring in resistors.
