low idle

first of all...sorry if this topic has been discussed before...but i couldnt find anything on it..

problem:

when i start up the car the car doesnt do the accelerated warm up anymore. and when i get it to warm up the idle would stay between 900-500 then sometimes when its at 500 it would just die out, this happenes whenever i dont have my foot resting on the gas..i'll be sitting at a light in nutural and it'll die out on its own....unless i gas it to about 1k....here are my mods if it helps to find the problem.....RB 2.5 DP and RB 3 inch MP and intake...thanks

mike

You can raise the idle using the idle screw.. check maunal. on N/A its on top of intake manifold, turbo is on the bac.

I wish we could swap

I'm sitting at 1600 with the idle screw all the way down...

As trainwreck has said.. adjust the idle set screw with a flat head screwdriver... or hell, use a penny as I have

considering it's a 88T2, it's doubtful you're running with factory settings and they do get out of spec for one reason or another

DO NOT MESS WITH THE IDLE SCREW! It will not magically go out of adjustment. I'm really tired of hearing advice like this.

Sounds like a massive vacuum leak. The most likely cause is the turbo inlet duct. It tends to crack and fall off the turbo.

Look, if the problem occurred suddenly, it is not the fault of the idle screw. Adjusting it will just mess up the problem even more.

I have this same problem, only I have a NA88, but it only happens until the car warms up. After that it runs great. But for the first.... 30-45seconds I have to keep my foot on the gas to let it warm up. BTW I'm getting 100miles between fill ups... I know RX7 eat gas, but this is kinda out of control...

In your case, Neptune, I'd say it's time for a 60k tune up. Plugs, wires, oil, all filters, etc.
