Low cost alternator belt adjuster.

So I was hanging out with James this weekend and he stated he wished there was a better way to adjust the belts without using a pry bar. He stated that he like something that would replace the slide bar that is on there now. He explain a complex way of modding the bar. But that got me to thinking about what I use to put a way when in worked at Tractor Supply.

I came up with this.....

It is not prefect the "eyes" are a little thick. I tried to use a washer on the bottom bolt but it start to cross thread. The part costs less then $3. I just installed it today. my belts make less noise now. and everything seems ok.

what do you guys think?

turnbuckles are intended to pull rather than push but it should work ok .. I would put a lock nut on the R H threaded piece just to keep it from turning because it will and try to get something on the water pump end instead of just the bolt ..It should have something flat to tighten on

Just use a cosmo or fd alternator bracket hardware and your set.
